Waste management plan moves forward
Christchurch City Council yesterday decided to establish a working party to explore other solutions to help it work towards its waste reduction goals.
The Council decided that all current and possible options be considered by a working party. It dropped an earlier decision that Chief Executive Lesley McTurk said was incompatible with exploring other solutions.
The new working party - consisting of Councillors Bob Shearing, Graham Condon, Sally Buck and Carole Evans, staff and invited parties – will develop a solution which works towards the vision, goals and targets contained in the draft Waste Management Plan 2005.
Staff are to bring an indicative financial budget to the Council meetings being held next week for discussion.
