Community waste minimisation fund

Applications invited for community waste minimisation fund
Individuals, groups or community organisations can apply for a share of Christchurch City Council's new Community Waste Minimisation Fund. The maximum amount per application will be $10,000 from the $50,000 available each year.
The fund has been set up in recognition that good ideas about how to better manage our waste are not the sole preserve of the Council or Government agencies. In the community are there good schemes and ideas but often these do not have the money to be developed into practical options which would benefit the community.
Such projects might include ways of increasing participation in recycling, reusing and recovering material; research or feasibility studies.
Applications for the current round of funding are required by Friday, 31 March 2006.
- For information about what should be included in an application and how applications will be assessed, contact the Council on 941 8999 or visit www.ccc.govt.nz/waste
