Chief Executive's Remuneration Increases
Christchurch City Council has increased the salary remuneration for its Chief Executive Dr Lesley McTurk by 4.8 per cent to $350,965.
Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore says the increase is in line with the market range increase for Chief Executives of 5 per cent in the public sector and 5.2 per cent for all organisations.
Mr Moore says that Dr McTurk will also receive a bonus of $26,791, which is 8 per cent of her previous salary.
"The bonus paid reflects the Council's ongoing support for Dr McTurk's direction for the organisation," he says.
"We are extremely fortunate to have someone of the calibre of Dr McTurk who has brought about much-needed change at council and is leading the organisation to a new era of business excellence."
Dr McTurk is on a five-year fixed term contract. Her total remuneration includes all benefits.
This information is being released to meet the Council's disclosure requirements under Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 2002
