Too windy for noise data
The noise data collected from Western Springs over the weekend will not be able to be used for enforcement purposes due to the wind speeds that were in excess of 40km/hour.
"We had a total of four noise complaints from the public. A crowd of approximately 2000 attended this first event. We will continue to work closely with the community and the promoters to ensure a successful season that complies with the terms of the agreement reached earlier this year," says Auckland City's manager of environmental health and licensing, Chris Dee.
Data from the weekend's racing will be available to the public later today. For further information on noise control and the results of the monitoring please go to: www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/noise/westernsprings
