A fine night forecast for fireworks this Saturday night
The forecast is fine and warm for Christchurch's biggest fireworks show of the year, the Meridian Energy Fireworks. The event fires up at 9.30pm this Saturday night at the New Brighton Pier.
Crowds attending will see a much bigger show than ever before as money previously used for a PA system has now been dedicated to enhancing the fireworks. People wanting to hear the soundtrack will now have to bring a radio and tune it to The Breeze 94.5FM.
A much-improved bus service to and from the display has also been organised by Ecan. It's the Two Buck Bus (or $1.50 with a MetroCard) running from main city centres starting at 6pm. A continuous service will leave New Brighton after the show. Contact metroinfo for details on 366 8855.
Any postponement of Meridian Energy Fireworks will be broadcast on The Breeze or people can check with the CCC after-hours service on 363 9898.
