2005/06 - Regional Grants from Manukau City Council
Regional grants totalling $160,000 were approved at the Corporate Governance meeting of the Manukau City Council last night.
Earlier this year applications for grants were invited from organisations that provide significant artistic, cultural, recreational, safety or heritage functions at a regional level and are in line with Council’s Funding to Communities Policy.
The successful organisations for 2005/06 are:
Auckland Observatory and Planetarium Trust Board $15,000
Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra $30,000
Auckland Zoological Park $45,000
Coastguard Northern Region $10,000
National Maritime Museum $5,000
NBR New Zealand Opera $10,000
Peter Snell Institute of Sport $5,000
Surf Life Saving Northern Region $30,000
WaterSafe Auckland Inc. $10,000
Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee Councillor Bob Wichman says:
“While the groups receiving funding are not within the Manukau area the grants are recognition that our residents benefit from the wonderful services that these organisations provide.”
