Glenfield water supply shut down
Water supply to homes and businesses in parts of Glenfield needs to be shut down overnight next Wednesday, October 19.
The work is needed so the road widening project at the intersection of Glenfield Rd and Sunset Rd can continue.
The old roundabout is being replaced with lights because of increasing traffic and to improve pedestrian safety on the busy road.
North Shore City water supply project manager, John McCann, says every effort is being made to minimise inconvenience when the water supply shut down.
"Water supply will not be available overnight from 9pm on Wednesday, October 19, to 5am on Thursday, October 20," he says.
"About 3200 homes and businesses near the Glenfield Rd-Sunset Rd intersection, in the Manuka Rd area and in Glenfield Rd between Pupuke Rd and Marlborough Avenue, will be affected."
When the supply is restored the water from the tap may be cloudy. Running the tap for half a minute should clear it.
A second water supply shutdown will be needed in November, but people will be notified closer to the time.
