New director appointed to ARH
3 October 2005
Former KPMG partner Kerry Stotter has been appointed to the board of Auckland Regional Holdings.
The board has overall responsibility for owning and managing ARH's assets - the money from which will be used by the ARC to fund primarily transport and stormwater projects throughout the region. ARH is also the owner of Ports of Auckland.
Mr Stotter retired from KPMG in 1999 after 32 years as a partner. He has extensive experience in business, local government and the not-for-profit sector.
ARC Chairman Michael Lee says Kerry Stotter brings to ARH immensely valuable experience from an exemplary career in the finance sector.
“There were a number of excellent candidates for the position and because of that it was a very difficult decision.”
Auckland Regional Holdings Chair Judith Bassett says “ARH looks forward to the significant contribution Kerry Stotter will make to its activities through his commercial acumen, proven track record in community involvement and familiarity with the local government sector.
“He is a most welcome addition to the board and I look forward to working with him at ARH for the benefit of the ARC group.”
Kerry Stotter says “I am looking forward to taking up my appointment on the board of this organisation which is so integral to the future of the Auckland region.”
“Enhancing the value of the assets of Auckland Regional Holdings and the returns it generates, is very much in the long-term interests of the region.
“I am committed to working positively with the board and staff to add my contribution to the vision of ARH and the stewardship of its assets.”
Mr Stotter is also chairman of Waste Disposal Services, a joint venture between Manukau City Council and Waste Management Ltd, and a director of Fairfax Industries Ltd.
