Western Corridor submission period extended to 4th November
The submission period for the proposed Western Corridor Plan consultation has been further extended to Friday 4th
November. The official period of consultation will now begin on Saturday October 1st. The original closing date for
submissions was Tuesday, October 25th. The new date will give the public an additional nine days to prepare their
submissions.
“High public interest and the complexity of the issue mean that we need to give organisations, businesses and
individuals as much time as possible to make submissions,” said the Chairperson of the Regional Land Transport
Committee, Councillor Terry McDavitt.
Councillor McDavitt said information about the proposed corridor plan would be made available when the official
consultation period begins on October 1st.
“It is essential for the transparency of the process that the technical information on which the proposed corridor plan
was developed is made available to the public in both its original form, and in summary. Preparing all this information
to the necessary quality for public release is taking some time and is another reason why we are extending the deadline
for submissions.”
Copies of all the technical reports will be made available at libraries and council offices throughout the region, and
on Greater Wellington’s website.
