Labour candidate selected for Tamaki Community Board by-election

Last night Tamaki ward Labour Party members selected Mike Murray as the Labour candidate for the Tamaki Community Board
by-election to be held from late September to mid-October this year.
Mike Murray has lived in Panmure for 16 years. He is an intermediate school Assistant Principal and has taught in senior
positions at Panmure District, Ruapotaka Primary, Stanhope Road, Tamaki Intermediate and College.
Mike is a life member of the Pakuranga Athletic Club, and still participates after over 30 years. He is a life member of
the NZ Children’s and the Auckland Masters athletic associations.
Mike is currently an elected member of the Mt Wellington Licensing and Charitable Trusts.
Mike is excited about the chance to stand for election on the Tamaki Community Board. “I want to utilise my energy and
experience for the continued success of the Board. I believe in listening to all people, striving for a united and safe
community, showing respect and being reliable and responsible to ensure our community and people get positive results.”
“I look forward to the development of the Panmure rail station and support all initiatives to increase public transport
use.”

as part of the team.
