North Shore City flying high
North Shore City's profile will hit new heights next month when footage of it is shown on long-haul Air New Zealand flights to and from Asia, America and the United Kingdom.
The airline's new in-flight system gives passengers the choice of finding out more about an area by viewing a section titled New Zealand Destinations.
North Shore City Council's tourism customer relationships officer, Marilyn Nicholls, says it is a great opportunity to increase the profile of the city.
"Ours is one of only five areas - including Auckland, Rodney, Rotorua and Northland - which will be shown from September," she says.
"There's so much for visitors to enjoy in North Shore City. We've got great beaches, historic North Head and Devonport, a thriving arts culture, first-class sports and leisure facilities, a great nightlife and wide range of entertainment."
More destinations will be added to Air New Zealand's in-flight service, and maps and web links are expected to be included in future.
