30th Anniversary tour to Christchurch, England, rescheduled
The planned 30th anniversary tour to England and France to celebrate the sister city relationship of 30 years with Christchurch, England, has been rescheduled to capture the English spring.
To celebrate the sister city relationship of 30 years with Christchurch, the people of Christchurch, England, have invited our city’s residents to their ancient borough.
Councillor David Cox, who is heading the 30th Anniversary Tour delegation on behalf of the Christchurch England Sister Cities Committee, says the trip has been re-scheduled from the earlier planned departure date of 3 September to May, 2006, so tour members can enjoy the beauty of England’s spring.
“The south of England’s natural beauty in May and June is well worth waiting for so the committee has decided to delay the tour,” Mr Cox says.
The planned itinerary and costs, which will include formalities at the sister town of Christchurch, in Dorset, as well as visiting the surrounding areas of southern England and Northern France, will be finalised soon.
Those wanting further information about the trip should contact Christchurch City Council International Relations Coordinator Barbara August, phone 941 8251.
