One week left to register your dog and win
Auckland city’s dog owners have until 1 August to ensure their dog is registered and to go into the draw to receive one
of five $200 Westfield shopping vouchers.
The council reminds owners that payments made after this date must include a late payment fee, and if the dog remains
unregistered, owners will be liable for a $300 fine.

Geoff Atherfold, Auckland City’s team leader for compliance monitoring says that registration fees allow the council to
carry out important work relating to dogs.
“Without these fees we wouldn’t have the resources to return lost dogs to their owners and impound dogs that threaten
the community’s safety,” says Mr. Atherfold. “Registration also enables the council to keep an accurate record of dogs
in the city.”
Additional application forms are available from any Auckland City service centre or can be downloaded from
www.aucklandcity.govt.nz
As well as the usual payment methods, owners can now pay their dog registration online by visiting
www.aucklandcity.govt.nz and clicking on the “pay this year’s dog rego online” button.
The dog registration fees have not changed since last year. The fees are as follows:

Class G Dangerous dog Under section 32(1)(e) of the Dog Control Act 1996, owners of dangerous dogs must pay 150 per
cent of the standard dog owner registration fee.
