The Regional Land Transport Committee (RLTC) meeting scheduled for 7 July has been cancelled and an RLTC workshop will now take place on that day.
The original programme for the Western Corridor Review included a RLTC meeting on 7 July to coincide with a meeting of the Transit NZ Board. This would allow for both partners in the review to be advised of the preferred corridor package and the agreed package would then be adopted by both groups as the draft for public consultation, submissions and hearings.
However some further work is required around the issues of risk and funding options before the final package can be established. As this work will take about a month to complete the Transit NZ Board meeting in August would be looking to adopt the preferred option. Similarly the RLTC would have the preferred option before them for adoption at their 18 August meeting.
Progress on this extra work will be presented at the RLTC workshop on 7 July.
