The Wizard of New Zealand flies in for parade
A spell of sun and joy will descend over the city as The Wizard of New Zealand arrives for The Christchurch Wizard School graduation parade!
He is certainly the consummate “man in black” but The Wizard of Christchurch is not flying in for the footy on Saturday, 25 June. As Patron, he arrives to lead the Christchurch Wizard School of Public Performance on parade to their graduation ceremony at the Town Hall.
At 10.30am, with the combined pipe bands of Christchurch front and back, 250 little “wizards” will parade in hats and gowns from the Christchurch Art Gallery to Victoria Square for their 11am graduation ceremony with the Mayor of Christchurch.
The event marks the opening of tickets going on sale at Ticketek for TV2 KidsFest (9-22 July). Performances by the Christchurch Wizard School are a feature throughout this year’s festival.
