Jane Bradbury appointed acting CEO of Greater Wellington Regional Council
Greater Wellington Regional Council has appointed Dr Jane Bradbury as acting Chief Executive until a replacement for
Barry Harris can begin work.
Council Chairman Ian Buchanan said that Dr Bradbury was an experienced senior officer who would guide the organisation
through the changeover to a new Chief Executive.
"Dr Bradbury has wide experience within the organisation and the Council has confidence that she will skilfully see us
through the transition period."
Ian Buchanan said that the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive was now well underway but that it was likely to
be some months before an appointee was able to commence the job.
"The recruitment process still has some time to run, and then the successful appointee will have to give notice to their
existing employer and make arrangements to assume the job at Greater Wellington. All of that will take time, and we
expect it will be at least three months before the new appointee starts work."
BACKGROUND
Dr Jane Bradbury has worked at Greater Wellington Regional Council for over 18 years. She has been the Divisional
Manager of the Environment Division since March 1995.
The appointment of the Chief Executive is the decision of the Council. A sub-committee of the Council oversees the
selection and appointment process. The final decision must be approved by the full Council.
