IF A MT EDEN FACELIFT CAN BE FAST-TRACKED, WHAT ABOUT SOME LEADERSHIP TO GET URGENT ACTION HAPPENING ON AUCKLAND’S OTHER REALLY IMPORTANT ISSUES?
Michael Barnett, Auckland Chamber of Commerce CEO, said Auckland Mayor Dick Hubbard’s apparent passion to fast-track a council plan to make Mt Eden’s summit a better place “may be a really worthwhile cause.”
“But if he can exert influence to get the RMA and consent processes happening with urgency on this issue, what about some Mayoral action to lead the way on getting the road blocks shifted on the really big issues holding back Auckland’s progress to be a better place to live and work?”
He was responding to Herald reports yesterday that Mayor Hubbard is putting in place an “urgent plan” to give Mt Eden a comprehensive makeover within the next 2 years.
