Environmental Expo in Russell
Exciting displays and activities planned!
Best methods of protecting the environment in Northland will be on show at the Russell Town Hall and Village Green on Saturday and Sunday, 30 and 31 July. This will be the fifth Environmental Expo held in Russell – and this year’s theme is ‘Everything is Connected’.
Ideas will be shared on alternative energy, biodynamics, building materials and healthy foodstuffs. Disposable packaging which is not tough on the environment will also feature.
A wide range of environmental groups have indicated their attendance and speakers will give briefings and practical tips on topics such as use of herbs in the home, organic food, permaculture, pest control, wastewater management and water quality. Information on enhancing environments for Kiwi and other endangered species will also be available.
Lucky door prizes will be drawn throughout the day, and for the children there will be colouring and recycling contests and quizzes. It will be a great day out for the family.
For those with a strong environmental message there are a few stalls available and would-be exhibitors are urged to contact Jacqui Knight on 09 403 8543 urgently.
