Christchurch Mayor wants town painted red … and black
Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore wants the city to become a sea of red and black this Friday (27 May) as a show of support for the Crusaders rugby players who take on the Waratahs in the final of the Rebel Sport Super 12 at Jade Stadium on Saturday night.
“The Crusaders have given us so much enjoyment over the last 10 years and it would be fantastic if everyone could wear red and black to work on Friday as a sign of encouragement and appreciation,” the Mayor says.
“I also call on all business owners to encourage their staff to wear red and black and to turn their businesses red and black.”
The Christchurch City Council will be embracing Red and Black Day with all staff encouraged to wear Crusader colours to work on Friday.
