Kids present art exhibition these school holidays
Artstation has been providing entertainment and creative learning for kids through their Children's Programme and now
the fruits of their labour are on display for the public to admire in the new Kids Present exhibition.
The exhibition runs from 16 to 29 April and coincides with Artstation's school holiday pottery, painting, photography,
kite making and mosaics workshops.
The Kids Present exhibition expresses the children’s unique artistic abilities through colourful and exciting ceramics,
paintings, drawings, mosaics and print artworks made during the Term One art classes. The exhibition also provides an
insight into the art-making processes that the children have been involved in.
The tutors, Andrea Gaskin, Kairava Gullatz and Tanja Nola, really enjoy teaching the Children's Programmes. Ms Gaskin
says, "It's a pleasure to teach such lively and inquisitive minds. The kids get such a lot out of it and are really
proud of what they have achieved.”
Artstation engages skilled tutors who are practising artists and experts in their fields to teach the children. The
sessions are process and skills based and offer a variety of media in a professional studio situation. Tutors encourage
learning through a range of fun activities. They identify each child’s unique skills and differences and provide
individual support and feedback.
The Artstation Children’s Programme receives significant funding from the Lion Foundation.
