Young woman dies at wheel
The 23 year-old driver of a three-door Honda Civic car that crashed on Quay St late last night was fatally killed when the car hit a tree. She was Emma Elizabeth Cox of West Harbour.
Five others were in the vehicle at the time of the crash which happened at about 11pm outside a Macdonald's restaurant.
Four of the car's passengers are still in Auckland Hospital, some with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. One person was treated in hospital and discharged.
Auckland City District Serious Crash Unit is investigating the crash which happened shortly after the Honda had passed a bus going in the same direction on Quay St.
Anyone who saw the crash and who hasn't spoken to Police should contact Constable Steve Sullivan at Ponsonby Police Station
