Trampers Rescued in Kaweka Ranges
The Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand coordinated another successful search and rescue of two trampers, just out of Hastings in the Kaweka Ranges.
At 7.35pm tonight RCCNZ tasked Lowe Corporation rescue helicopter in Hastings to search for the two trampers after a beacon signal was activated in the Kaweka Ranges. The signal was first detected at 6.05pm and the trampers were rescued at 8.45pm.
One of the trampers has incurred an injury to the leg and the helicopter is on route to Hastings Hospital.
