Witnesses sought for Z nail incident near Basin Reserve
Wellington Police are seeking the owners of cars damaged by 'Z' nails left strewn on roads near the Basin Reserve early yesterday morning to contact the Wellington Central Police Station.
Police understand that about 20 cars were affected in the incident which happened about 2.30am yesterday, Sunday, 13 February.
"We've talked briefly at the scene with some of the car owners but would like them and other drivers to provide us with more details," Wellington Police spokeswoman Kaye Calder said.
She asks the vehicle owners, and members of the public who may have witnessed someone throwing the nails or noticed any other suspicious behaviour around the Basin Reserve late on Saturday night - early Sunday morning to contact the Wellington Central Police Station watchhouse.
"Deliberating throwing sharp objects like Z nails on the road is really dangerous for road users. We want to find those responsible."
