It’s time to Rock the Park
Some of New Zealand’s best rock acts play live at Point England Reserve in Glen Innes from 2-6pm on Saturday 26
February.
The date of the concert has changed from 19 February to 26 February as The Feelers are arriving back from recording in
the U.S. later than expected.
The free Rock the Park concert, which is part of Auckland City’s Music in Parks series and supported by The Rock 90.2FM,
features four huge performances by leading Kiwi rock talent.
The rock extravaganza features Jordan Luck, the finest live front man in New Zealand. Jordan, with his band Luck – an
all-star New Zealand line-up – will play The Exponents hits and other classic Kiwi rock songs that each band member has
helped make famous over the years.
Crowd favourites The Feelers will also be there, picking up where they left off after a very successful summer tour.
The Feelers first entered our charts with their debut album Supersystem in 1998. Their string of popular singles
including Venus and Pressure Man, as well as two brilliant follow-up albums, Communicate and Playground Battle, have
assured them a place as one of the most successful bands in New Zealand music history. The Feelers are definitely an act
not to be missed.
Also revving up the crowds at Rock the Park will be OpShop, who spent the summer on the road playing alongside the
Feelers.
OpShop have enjoyed success since breaking onto the scene with their debut album You Are Here. Their singles Saturated,
No Ordinary Thing and Nothing Can Wait have been very popular on the airwaves and sound just as good live.
Topping off this huge rock concert will be 48 May, whose feel-good music is filled with dynamic guitar hooks and
infectiously catchy melodies guaranteed to have you tapping your feet and rocking along. The band’s energetic live
performance coupled with their collection of catchy songs is certain to blow minds and leave audiences eager to hear
more.
