Percy The Pelican A Big Hit
Percy the pelican was a big hit this school holidays - the one of a kind inflatable helped to entice swimmers from all
over New Zealand. With over 40% of swimmers coming from out side the Upper Hutt region, H2O Xtream is really helping to
put Upper Hutt on the map.
Other actives available at the pool were just as popular, with the “Have a go” program well attended. Participants were
able to try out flippaball, snorkelling and kayaking at no additional cost.
The Edge Road Runners also paid a few visits during the holidays with heaps of great giveaways and prizes. Dozens of
children competed to win prizes in competitions including underwater swimming, big bombs, speed races over the Double
Jeopardy plus many more.
The main competition was open to any one who swam in the pool over the holiday and was for a Hyundai photo capable phone
with a bonus MP3 player. Monica Newman of Upper Hutt was the lucky winner of this fantastic prize.
