CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 5 February until Thursday 10 February
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.
CMJ Stage 1
Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 6 February - CLOSED - during the day and overnight from 8am until 6am on Monday:
. Khyber Pass off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
Sunday 6 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Monday:
. Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Northwestern to Southern Motorway Link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)
Monday 7 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Tuesday:
. Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Gillies Ave on-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Port off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Wellesley St off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Symonds St off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Northwestern to Southern Motorway Link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)
Tuesday 8 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Wednesday:
. Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Khyber Pass on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Port on-ramp (SH16 westbound)
. Wellesley St on-ramp (SH16 westbound)
. Northwestern to Southern Motorway Link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)
Wednesday 9 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Thursday:
. Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Khyber Pass on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Khyber Pass off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Port off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Wellesley St off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Port off-ramp (SH16 eastbound)
. Wellesley St off-ramp (SH16 eastbound)
. Northwestern to Southern Motorway Link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)
Thursday 10 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Friday:
. Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Khyber Pass off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Northwestern to Southern Motorway Link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)
Local road closures:
Thursday 10 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Friday:
. Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps
Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until early 2005.
Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.
CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 6 until Thursday 10 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1 northbound) between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp
Ramp and link closures:
Monday 7 until Thursday 10 February - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway to the Southern Motorway Link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)
. Port to Northwestern Motorway Link (SH16 westbound)
. Northwestern Motorway to Port Link (SH16 portbound)
. Wellesley St on-ramp to the Northwestern Motorway (SH16 westbound)
The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.
Project information centre: corner of Stanley St and Alten Rd, Grafton, 8.30am - 5.30pm, weekdays.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
