Going out and about over the holidays?
Buses, trains and the harbour ferry will operate on a reduced timetable over Christmas and New Year – from 24 December to 14 January 2005 and most bus and train services will be free on Christmas Day.
Pick up a leaflet about these services from timetable stockists, buses, trains or the harbour ferry or go to www.gw.govt.nz.
If you’re planning a night out, why not go home with the After Midnight bus services? These operate from midnight until 3am, (some services until 4am), on Saturdays and Sundays. After Midnight will also run in the early morning on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and 2nd January (these services attract a fare). The bus leaves from Courtenay Place and goes to most Wellington suburbs including Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Porirua.
It’s cheaper than a taxi fare.
For more information phone Ridewell – the public transport information service – on 801 7000 (0800 801 700 from Kapiti and the Wairarapa).
