Council agrees on a way forward for Western Springs Speedway
The Auckland City Council tonight unanimously supported the following resolution:
“That Council notes with concern that the continued operation of one of Auckland’s iconic intergenerational, family events, the Western Springs Speedway, is under threat of closure after 50 years.
That Council continues its exploration of addressing the issues concerning the future of the Western Springs Speedway and refer this matter to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Chief Executive Officer, to ensure the successful continuation of the event.”
