CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 11 December until Thursday 16 December
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.
Barriers removed from Port/ Wellesley St SH1 on-ramp
Transit New Zealand advises that the temporary barriers at the top of the Port/ Wellesley Street on-ramp to the
Southern Motorway southbound will be removed next week.
This change will allow two lanes to continue further up the ramp before they merge into one lane and enter the motorway.
The barriers will be removed on the night of Tuesday 14 December.
The change will be signposted and motorists are asked to drive with caution.

Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave
on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until January 2005.
Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

Monday 13 December until Wednesday 15 December - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound lanes between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp
Thursday 16 December - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Friday (Contingency closure):
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound lanes between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp
Ramp and link closures:

Road users are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation. In the event of bad weather,
work will be postponed until the next clear night.
Transit regrets any inconvenience caused.
The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the
Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

(SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
