Hall Programme Offers Heaps Of Fun In The School Holidays
The holidays are here again, along with the dilemma of how to keep your children engaged in productive activities during this busy time leading up to Christmas. Manukau on the Move once again has a diverse, exciting programme to keep youngsters happy and occupied whilst parents get their last minute shopping done.
Manukau on the Move, Manukau City Council's Leisure Innovators, offer a Hall programme for 5 - 12 year olds which is basically about having fun. There will be a huge range of enjoyable and affordable activities to keep youngsters entertained during weekdays: Thursday 16 December - Wednesday 22 December.
Programme Co-ordinator, Keryn Dudley says, "This diverse Hall Programme will challenge children, give them interesting activities to expend their energy whilst contributing to the Christmas season by creating Christmas decorations and treats. Beginning on Thursday 16 December they can learn to create crazy decorations and Christmas crackers at Beachlands Hall with the 'Christmas Decorations' creative programme.
"On Tuesday, meeting at the Maraetai Hall, 'Hawaiian Beach Day' will see youngsters dressing to the theme while they engage in a beach dig, building fight-the-tide sand castles, and enjoying a sausage sizzle; The following Monday 20 December, again at the Maraetai Hall, 'Outdoor Adventures', will involve outdoor cooking, outdoor novelty games and orienteering challenges; get ready to prepare 'Christmas Treats' at the Beachlands Hall on Tuesday 21 December, and make tasty treats, Xmas boxes and much more. Meet at the Maraetai Hall on Wednesday 22 December for 'On the Sea Shore' and explore Omana's rocky shore with the local park ranger, and make beach collages."
Programmes run from 10am - 3pm daily; the cost is a daily rate of $15. Please bring: lunch, drink, hat, outdoor shoes, sunblock, raincoat and warm clothes.
