Bluebird Christmas at the zoo: Saturday 18 December, 6pm – 10pm
Santa’s reindeers can’t make it. Can the jive-talkin’ Bluebird penguins save the day? Come and find out, see Santa Claus, and meet the Christmas-loving penguins!
Join Matt and Dayna from TV2’s Studio 2 for the coolest Christmas party in town, at Auckland Zoo on Saturday 18 December.
From 6pm, Auckland Zoo will be rocking with the sounds of Christmas. Get into the groove with the special Christmas band, sing along to traditional Carols by Candlelight, join in fun party games and win give-away goodies.
There will be free face-painting, wandering cartoon, story and animal characters, performances by Fairy Clare, and heaps more entertainment.
The summer evenings mean some of the animals will still be up, so come early and explore the zoo or just hang out in the lush surroundings of Auckland's best park with your family and friends.
Bring a picnic or purchase dinner from Darwin's café or the BBQs near the Band Rotunda. Darwin's is licensed, and a fully licensed bar will also be set up in the grounds. Keep an eye out on the night for the giant inflatable Bluebird Penguin at the Auckland Zoo’s exciting new entrance complex. Weta Espresso Bar and the Wild Zone Gift Shop will be open, for a great cup of coffee or some last minute Christmas shopping.
Normal Zoo admission prices apply. Friends of the Zoo members receive a 20 per cent discount on entry after 4.15pm.
