Maungawhau and One Tree Hill Summit Roads closed for Guy Fawkes
Maungawhau (Mt Eden) and One Tree Hill Summit Roads will be closed to vehicles from 7pm to 7am on Friday, 5 November and Saturday, 6 November.
The roads will be closed to protect the parks from damage by Guy Fawkes revellers.
“Last Guy Fawkes, Maungawhau Summit was a nightmare of litter and broken glass. We want to ensure the same scenario is not repeated this year,” says Graham Marchant, parks officer for Maungawhau.
Signs will soon be installed on the affected roads to notify road users of the closure.
The roads will remain open to pedestrians. The closure will not affect vehicle access to Langtons Restaurant on Maungawhau or to the Sorrento or the Stardome Observatory on One Tree Hill.
