New councillors swear to serve the city
Members of Auckland City’s new council were sworn in at their inaugural meeting for the 2004 – 2007 term at the Aotea Centre last night.
The new council took office on Wednesday 13 October after the final election results were declared, but could not act until the official swearing in ceremony.
The meeting also unanimously appointed Dr Bruce Hucker as deputy mayor. Councillors were also appointed to community boards (list attached).
