Labour Announces Candidates for Wellington City Council
Labour is pleased to announce a strong slate of candidates for the upcoming Wellington City Council elections.
"A strong team has been selected, to represent all facets of the Wellington community. All the Labour candidates are
committed to a progressive agenda on Council" said Jeremy Greenbrook, Wellington City Labour Local Body Chair.
"Issues like stopping the rate burden being put onto households, maintaining & building the City's housing stock, and making sure Council services are better provided in the suburbs of our City are
key priorities for Labour candidates.
"Labour candidates will be aiming to reverse the damage caused by some of the current Council's exclusionary policies,"
Jeremy Greenbrook said.
Labour's candidates are:
Lambton Ward: Councillor David Zwartz
Southern Ward: Tafa Max To'o
Eastern Ward: Councillor Leonie Gill and Chris Anastasiadis.
Onslow-Western Ward: Te Makao Bowkett
Northern Ward: Ash Bhasin
"Labour is working to protect Wellington's reputation as a vibrant, diverse and creative City - and also to give a
voice to those who currently don't figure in Council decision-making," Jeremy Greenbrook said.
"We want to build a City which is both prosperous and equitable; where every resident has the chance to build the kind
of life they want and deserve.
"The candidates we've selected will work hard for their wards, and for Wellington," said Jeremy Greenbrook.
