Pioneer Polar Rave Promises to be the 'coolest' TV2 KidsFest Opening Event TV2 KidsFest, 180 events for children all over Christchurch, Canterbury and North Canterbury between July 3rd and 16th.
Almost 20 events are already sold out in this years TV2 KidsFest festival, kicking off on Saturday 3rd and running throughout the two-week winter school holidays.
A phenomenal response from parents and caregivers all over the city will result in an estimated 60,000 ticket sales this year.
The festival, aimed at children up to 12 years old, is in its 13th year and has grown to include over 180 events.
With the weather chilly outside, children will be having a warm 'cool' time at the Pioneer Polar Rave - the opening event of TV2 KidsFest - held this Saturday July 3rd from 6 to 8pm at Pioneer Stadium.
The stadium will be decorated like a winter wonderland with special features including an inflatable slide, and a 'white glow' area where anything white (include a mouth of smiley teeth!) will glow under purple lights.
The supervised dance party for kids will include a great music and light show and children will have the opportunity to talk by speakerphone to the winter-over crew at Scott Base in the Antarctic. Scotty the Scott Base penguin will be on hand for hugs, along with the Antarctic Centre Penguin.
Tickets are $4 and available through Ticketek at 377 8899 or at the door.
Christchurch City Council produces TV2 KidsFest, with the generous support of TV2 and The Community Trust. Information about the festival can be found in the brochure, on the website www.kidsfest.co.nz or by calling 941 6840 during office hours.
