Keith Hay Park gets $800,000 funding boost over two years Auckland City decided yesterday at the combined committees meeting, Keith Hay Park will receive $400,000 per year for two years to supplement Mt Roskill community board’s SLIPS funding.
The money will come out of the council’s capital expenditure budget for the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 financial years.
Councillor Graeme Mulholland, chairperson of the Community Services Committee, says that the park is a major asset to the city.
“Keith Hay Park is widely used by Aucklanders and we need to support, in conjunction with the community board, the development of this great open space”, says Mr Mulholland.
Auckland City will be working with community board representatives to set priorities for spending at the park, following extensive public consultation.
