Karori Wildlife Sanctuary - Heritage of Gold Explorer Packs
Come to the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary over the July school holidays and explore the gold mining history of the valley. There are numerous gold mining relics to discover in the bush and a real gold mine to visit. Kids can spend an hour and a half exploring using a specially designed Explorer Pack to help them discover and learn about Wellington's own gold rush.
Explorer Packs include a trail task map, stickers, a postcard, a pencil and a sweet. Open from 10am to 4pm during the week and 10am til 5pm at the weekend. Entrance is at the end of Waiapu Road, Karori, Wellington (adjacent to the Karori tunnel).
