LIM Applications Available On Internet
In what is believed to be a New Zealand first, people can now apply for a Land Information Memoranda (LIM) online from Hutt City Council 's website.
"We have been trialling the service with local real estate agents and solicitors and have received a positive response," said Sarah Allison, Hutt City's Manager, Information Management.
LIMs provide a report of the information Council holds about an individual property and are often requested by those purchasing properties.
The page allows the public to enter a property's street address and verify the property by a map display. The customer then enters their contact details and a credit card number into a secure payment environment.
The secure payment environment is managed by Direct Payment Solutions, a company that specialises in web payment sites.
"The LIM application process is the first of a range of services that Hutt City Council plans to put on its website where credit card payments are accepted. Others include paying parking tickets and dog registrations," said Sarah Allison.
Only the application process is available online. The LIM itself remains a paper report that can be collected or mailed to customers.
The site can be found under 'Council' in the 'Rates and Property' menu of the Council's website at www.huttcity.info or by typing "LIM" in the website's search function.
