Guitarist and composer Harry Harrison and his band Inside Out will perform in Cathedral Square this Friday as part of New Zealand Music Month. They are joined by cultural icon Billy T.K. in a performance from 12noon to 2pm. Harry Harrison has been teaching and playing in Christchurch bands for many years. Originally from Scotland, Harry has worked in many musical environments, from The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, to modern jazz ensembles, and even hard rock bands.
Recently Harry has focused on composing and leading his successful group 'Inside Out'. They have performed at many functions and events such as The Christchurch Arts Festival, The Jazz Festival and concerts throughout New Zealand.
Considered a New Zealand icon, Billy T.K has been entertaining crowds for over 30 years.
Best known for his blistering guitar solos in the style of Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana, he is a man of many talents. A song-writer as well as a performer, Billy plays acoustic guitar, electric waiata and specialises in pacific rhythms. In his long career he has supported John Mayall, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee, UB40 and performed onstage with Carlos Santana in 1996.
