Lindon Puffin Farewells Christchurch in Cathedral Square
Free Friday Lunchtime Concert, Friday April 2nd, 12.15pm to 1.15pm Cathedral Square
One time front man for local glam rock heroes 'the Puffins', Lindon Puffin has spent the last few years building up an impressive reputation for his lively, interactive solo shows. He farewells the city this Friday, before moving to Auckland and his last free performance in Cathedral Square takes place from 12.15pm to 1.15pm.
Following the release of his highly acclaimed debut solo album 'Stuff Like That' and last summers extensive nationwide tour of 45 shows and 30 high schools, Lindon has chosen to relocate to Auckland to begin working at one of New Zealand's top recording studios 'The Lab'. Once he's settled in, he plans to begin recording his next album 'Stones in the Drum'.
Lindon's music has been compared to the likes of Chris Knox, The Muttonbirds, and Billy Bragg, and he often combines his original work with a handful of offbeat covers from a 'folk-a-fied' Eminem, The Chills, The Smiths, and even 'Wham!'.
Along with his final free concert, Lindon will be presenting a feature length documentary film of last years 'Really real' tour - venue to be determined.
With just a guitar, a harmonica, and a deft turn of wit, Lindon Puffin's final free show in Christchurch will be one not to miss.
