Latest General Aerial Operation Completed – Tuesday 9 March 2004
The latest general aerial operation, against painted apple moth, was completed today – Tuesday 9 March.
This morning’s operation started at first light in Waikumete Cemetery, stopped between 8am and 9am for children walking
to school, and treatment was completed in Ranui/Swanson and Riverpark by 10am.
“The completion of this latest operation marks a further scaling down of aerial operations against painted apple moth,”
Robert Isbister, General Manager Painted Apple Moth Operations said today.
“Waikumete Cemetery and Riverpark now drop out of the schedule making Ranui/Swanson the only areas to continue being
treated at this stage. However after three more treatments, the first being on Tuesday 30 March, Ranui/Swanson will also
drop off the schedule.
“Hobsonville and Motions/Meola Creek were removed on February 20.”
Weather permitting, the next date for a general aerial operation in the reduced area is scheduled for Tuesday, 30 March
2004. This operation will be carried out in the remaining risk area of Ranui/Swanson.
