Freewheel with a Friend on Bike To Work Day
A frenzy of freewheelers will feast on free food! Wellingtonians who bike to work on Wednesday 18 February will help themselves to a free breakfast.
Cycle Aware Wellington and Wellington City Council invite all cyclists to pedal on down to Civic Square between 7 and 9 a.m. for a free feed, entertainment and prizes.
"Once a year we gather to celebrate all the good things about biking." said Marilyn Northcotte from Cycle Aware Wellington. "It's quick, healthy, zero-polluting and loads of fun."
This year Cycle Aware and WCC are calling on cyclists to bring a friend along. In 2003 there were 450 hungry cyclists fed on a windy day. "At the 2004 Bike To Work Day we plan to double the fun." said Ms Northcotte.
