Opportunity To Discover Your Artistic Side At Nathan Homestead Open Days
Manukau City Council’s arts staff invites the public to Nathan Homestead’s three hands-on open days next month.
At each open day the public will have the opportunity to participate in FREE one-hour workshops with their tutors and
preview some of the classes that are offered at the Centre.
Council’s Programme and Events Co-ordinator Pat Kadarmia is enthusiastic about the open days. “This is a great
opportunity for the public to discover their artistic side. Classes on offer are lead lighting, flax weaving, adults’
pottery, glass painting, mosaic, mixed media and digital photography.
“We haven’t forgotten the younger folks either,” says Pat. “We have workshops and classes on preschool music and
movement, children’s art, pottery and cartoon and storyboard art, all designed to cultivate and encourage your child’s
artistic development.”
The free sessions give people the chance to see if they like a particular activity on a ‘no obligation’ basis.
Participants can sample what is on offer at the Homestead. Staff will be available to advise on enrolment options if
people want to pursue an activity or class.
There are still spaces available in a number of Term One classes. Enrolments are also being taken for our Term Two
