Council calls for submissions on alcohol policy
Christchurch City Council’s proposed alcohol policy is open for public comment from now until 5pm, 23 February 2004.
The policy is available from Council service centres; Civic Offices, Tuam St; and on the website http://www.ccc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay
Submissions can be made on the HaveYour Say website or by writing to Klaus Prusas, Environmental Effects team leader, Christchurch City Council, P.O.Box 237, Christchurch. Submitters need to state if they want their views to be heard in person by a Council subcommittee.
An operational manual that would be used in conjunction with the policy is available on request from the Environmental Services Unit, 2nd floor, Civic Offices. This manual covers day to day matters associated with the Sale of Liquor Act 1989.
The proposed alcohol policy was developed following the Council’s release of a discussion document on its desire to introduce an alcohol policy. A number of submissions were received and a Council subcommittee considered these in developing the policy.
When the public consultation period has ended, the Council will consider all of the verbal and written submissions before finalising its alcohol policy.
