Upper Hutt City is set to become a "Tournament Town " for International Jousting, National 4WD cross country, the world famous Ballinger Belt Target shooting and the National Maori Golf Tournament over the next few weeks culminating with Wellington Cup Week.
"There will be a very interesting influx of competitors and spectators',” says City Promotion Manager Paul Lambert .
He adds that 'first up is the return of the Deadwood Safari 4WD event after many years on Saturday 3 January .For the first time a Norwegian Team is coming for the International Jousting Champs being held at one of The Lord of the Rings film locations -Harcourt Park on Saturday 10 jan and Sunday 11 Jan.
The vents are as follows
Saturday 3 Jan Deadwood Safari -4WD national champs over 60 vehicles-bogholes galore !!
Monday 5 to Friday 9 Jan National Maori Golf Tournament at Te Marua, Trentham and Manor Park Clubs
Saturday 10 and Sunday 11Jan -International Jousting Champs-Harcourt Park -Australia , NZ, England and Norway.
