Marae Development Group Appointed
Waitakere City Council last night appointed the following people to the Te Atatu Marae Development Group:
Tau Henare;
Mihi Te Huia
Melba Wellington
Te Warena Taua;
Poata Northcroft;
Maurice Young;
Kelvin Martin;
Judge Jim Rota (subject to confirmation of his availability)
The development group is responsible for moving forward work on the marae project at Harbourview until a trust is
established under the Te Ture Whenua Maori Act, 1993. That trust will then be responsible for building and managing the
marae.
The appointment of two members and a chairperson for the group will come back to the Council for consideration in
February.
