Tourists and journalists will be visiting the four film locations in the area especially the day before the world premiere.
Lambert adds that the coverage of Upper Hutt in three film location guide books has boosted visitors to the city.
Up to 250 visitors are expected to join the special "Return to Rivendell " tours on Sunday accompanied by carefully selected Rings experts acting as guides .Many of the visitors are from overseas including some from as far away as Nothern Ireland.
Lambert is surprised people will travel so far an may not even see the third film while in NZ. It goes on public release midnight Wednesday 17 December.
