Vibrant Grey Lynn Welcomes New Harcourts Office
The country’s largest real estate group, Harcourts, opened the doors of its newest Auckland office this week in the
vibrant community of Grey Lynn. Harcourts has made a commitment to grow its marketshare in the strategically important
Auckland city.
Owned by Stu Jenner, Harcourts Grey Lynn is his eighth Auckland office including Ponsonby, Auckland Central Property
Management, Epsom, Mangere Bridge, Mt Albert, Mt Eden, Royal Oak and Remuera. David Hammond is an Executive of the new
Grey Lynn office and nearby Ponsonby.
As one of Auckland’s oldest suburbs, Grey Lynn is also well known for its multi-cultural community with one of its most
famous sons the writer and MP John A Lee. With its close proximity to the central city, Grey Lynn has over recent months
inevitably begun to enjoy ‘gentrification’ and popularity amongst property buyers. Mr Hammond added, “It is becoming
quite fashionable and is fast appreciating with property commonly in the $400,000 to $900,000 range.”
He described Grey Lynn as “a very vibrant community where people of many different nationalities enjoy the café and
shopping area, which is really starting to develop.” With his smart new office in the heart of Grey Lynn on the corner
of Great North and Tuarangi Roads, one of Mr Hammond’s priorities is to build his sales team up to about 20.
CEO of Harcourts New Zealand, Bryan Thomson said given Auckland had the largest population in the country, Grey Lynn
gave Harcourts another opportunity to serve Auckland’s real estate needs. “We are the largest real estate group in New
Zealand and the fastest growing one in Australia with now over 240 offices. Our growth strategy is clearly focused on
increasing our Auckland marketshare and we look forward to announcing the opening of more offices in the Auckland region
in the near future.”
