THREE SHORTLISTED FOR KOROHIWA
The Korohiwa Steering Group, established by Hutt City Council to guide the sale process, has shortlisted three proposals for the development of land owned by Council at Korohiwa Bay in Eastbourne, Wellington.
In total twelve submissions were received in response to the Request for Proposal for the residential development of the old bus barns site and adjoining land issued in July this year.
The shortlisted developers are now working on their submissions and are expected to present final binding proposals to the Steering Group by the end of November.
The Steering Group will evaluate the proposals and make a recommendation to be considered by Council at its 16 December meeting.
"The 12 submissions received, proposed a range of high quality, low to medium density residential units with extensive landscaping and attention to detail, even at the preliminary design stage," said Stuart Duncan, General Manager Asset Services.
"We were very pleased with the number of responses and their overall standard."
"We will not be naming the shortlisted developers at this stage, to allow a period of time for them to refine their proposals without undue commercial or community pressure.
"This is standard commercial practice that will also protect confidentiality between the shortlisted parties."
