Things that go Boo at the Zoo!
Calling all little ghouls and goblins. Find out what goes Boo at Auckland Zoo – the most fun, adventurous and safe place your kids can ‘trick or treat’ this Halloween (Friday, 31 October 5pm – 8pm).
From the moment you arrive, it’s going to be an action packed evening with masses of giveaways, starting with a special lolly bag for your kids on arrival, courtesy of Allen*s Lollies. Follow the Haunted Lolly-trail and see what other surprises are lurking at all the lolly stations along the way.
Master of Ceremonies Cruella de Ville, knows 101 ways of keeping spine’s tingling – her very special Ghost Bingo and interactive games will keep you looking over your shoulders to see if there is anyone out there. You never know, there could be some roving ‘scary characters’ just waiting to go BOO to you! If your trick is ‘baaad’ enough, there will be loads of other big treats in store throughout the evening.
While you experience the magic of the zoo at night, you can get grooving to the haunting sounds of our spooky Boogeyman DJ. Fairy Clare’s pirate show will definitely shiver a few timbers, and no Halloween would be complete without some chilling yarns from a ghostly storyteller. You might even come across a wizard if you venture into our rainforest!
“We aim to make it a safe, fun and spellbinding night so that children can enjoy the thrills of Halloween without scaring their parents,” says Jackie Sanders, Auckland Zoo Events Co-ordinator.
Dress your kids up as their favourite Halloween character and they can enter the costume competition for a chance to win one of many cool prizes. Carmel’s Face Painters will be there to add some finishing ghoulish touches!
There will be loads of other great goodies to giveaway such as 2 family passes to Cirkus Inferno at the Civic Theatre in November and scary books.
Children’s Halloween picnic packs are available at Darwin’s Café. Normal zoo admission charges apply.
